R&B Queens Unite To Form Power Trio

Where has Kelly Price, Deborah Cox, and Tamia been lately? Apparently recording an album together. The three R&B divas are reportedly planning to drop a project under a new group they’ve formed: TDK.

According to AOL Black Voices, the group has reportedly signed up to work with everyone from Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds to R. Kelly. Currently, the ladies are recording with Warryn Campbell for their album, The Queen Project, set for an early 2010 release.

Similar in principle to LSG–the Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill group that realized it had more potential together than not–TDK figures it can make an impact as a supergroup in a non-eventful R&B season.

“We’re going to be raising the bar just a tad,” Cox told Black Voices. “It’s great to work with likeminded individuals. We have the same sentiments as singers, mothers and wives!”

“Truly I am excited because what we’re doing has never been done before with three women on CD,” Kelly Price added. “Each of us in our own right is a true vocalist, and while I am loving what we’re doing in the studio, I just can’t wait for people to see our live show!”

The group’s first live performance is scheduled for October 10, at the Circle of Sisters expo in New York City. -Linda Hobbs
