Kanye West’s New Video "Power" Described As "Apocalyptic" & "Decadent" (News)

The video for Kanye West’s new single “Power” premiers next week on MTV. That’s assuming a lot of editing is done to it first.

Writer Dave Itzkoff of the New York Times, previewed an unedited version of the video and writes there is some R-Rated content in it.

Itzkoff wrote of one scene:

As Kanye raps, the camera slowly zooms out in one continuous, unedited take to reveal him in a classical structure, surrounded by female attendants partly or entirely nude; some kneel before him on all fours, others wear devil horns and others are suspended upside down from the ceiling. The sword of Damocles hangs over Mr. West’s head, and behind him an unseen executioner is preparing to strike him with a blade.”

The video was directed by Marco Brambilla who describes it as “apocalyptic, in a very personal way.” The clip has also been described as “Kanye in an orgy of decadence and destruction.”

Sounds interesting to say the least.
